Copper Mountain Resort: Mountain Improvements

Copper Mountain Resort will invest over $7 million in mountain operations to ensure the best quality product no matter the time of year. Along with Woodward at Copper Barn Renovations, Copper Mountain announces new lifts and on-mountain improvements for the 13/14 season. The Storm King surface lift, in operation since 1985, has provided access to the unforgettable skiing and riding in Spaulding Bowl, Upper Enchanted Forest and Copper Bowl. Copper Mountain guests will see a facelift on Storm King; a new surface lift will provide a substantial upgrade to the Storm King and overall high alpine skiing and riding experience. All proposed on-mountain projects focus on enhancing and improving popular skiing and riding areas at Copper Mountain. Subject to final USFS approvals, the second lift installed will be the “West Ridge Platter,” which will connect the top of Sierra lift with the top of Mountain Chief. A quick 2-3 minute ride on this platter style lift will open up Union Peak, Copper Bowl and West Ridge for guests skiing and riding pleasure. Access to Lower Enchanted Forest, improved ski out in Spaulding Bowl and rock work within the Sierra pod will allow us to open this high alpine terrain more easily and earlier. Many other projects round out the list including new snow cats and continued snowmaking improvements allowing us to continue our legacy of providing a snow surface second to none from opening day onward.
